If you are not registered to vote, you can register in 3 ways.

Early Voting / Absentee Voting:

Election is on a working day, Tuesday, November 5th. If you think you are not going to be able to come to the polls on November 5th, you can vote early in-person or you can vote ‘Absentee’. It is a great way to avoid any last minute schedule conflicts from impacting your ability to usher in change on November 5th.

Online voting is not allowed in Virginia. It’s very easy to request an ‘Absentee Ballot’. Once you receive the ballot in regular mail, you can poll the ballot and send in before the deadline listed above. You will need your Social Security Number and Virginia Driver’s License to request an ‘Absentee Ballot.’

You can request ‘Absentee Ballot’ request online at the link here: https://vote.elections.virginia.gov/VoterInformation

OR you can print out, fill out and mail a simple ‘Absentee Ballot’ request form provided at the link here: https://www.elections.virginia.gov/media/formswarehouse/Absentee-Voting/Applications/SBE-701-Absentee-Ballot-Application-Rev7-17-long.pdf

You can select one of the 20 different reasons to request an absentee ballot. The following are the 5 most popular reasons for a typical voter in Fairfax County OR for a Vinson For School Board volunteer.

1A: Student attending college or university outside of locality of residence in Virginia

1C: Business outside County/City of residence on election day
